The United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and
Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) is an international system created by the UN
to address the classification of chemicals by types of hazard and
harmonize hazard communication elements, including labels and safety data sheets.

The reference document is the “Purple Book” available at http://www.unece.org/trans/danger/publi/ghs/ghs_rev06/06files_e.html

Kenya is in the processes of adopting and implementing the GHS for pest control products. Following the sensitization of the Agrochemical industry on the GHS, PCPB in collaboration with Agrochemical Association of Kenya (AAK), Croplife Africa Middle East and Croplife International have developed a Draft GHS manual for Classification and Labelling of Pest Control Products Manual in Kenya. The manual was available for comments on the PCPB website http://pcpb.go.ke/ from 16th February, 2017 to 22nd June, 2017.

Kindly note that the manual can only be used for reference purposes.
