The Pest Control Products Board (PCPB) is a statutory organization of the Kenya Government established in 1985 under Cap 346 Laws of Kenya in recognition that pesticides are key to agricultural production and can be harmful to human, animals and the environment.

The Board is mandated to oversee all matters related to pesticides, including but not limited to regulation of the importation and exportation, manufacture, distribution, sale and use of pest control products while mitigating their harmful effects to human health, animal health and the environment. The Board undertakes its functions through a Board of management and the secretariat. We also collaborate with both local and international stakeholders. The Board is in the process of regulatory review of the following priority list of active ingredients. The table below indicates pesticide molecules (active ingredients) under review:

The public is notified that the Board will be receiving comments on the stated molecules for the next sixty (60) days effective the date of this notification. The review comments should be based on the weight of evidence approach in scientific assessments.

How to submit comments

Comments should be sent by email Pest Control Products Board (PCPB)    no later than the deadline given.

Comments will not be considered if they:

  • are submitted after the deadline set out in the call.
  • are not related to the contents of the document.
  • contain complaints against institutions, personal accusations, irrelevant or offensive statements or material.

PCPB will assess all comments from interested parties, which are submitted in line with the criteria above. All submitted comments will be published.
